Boracay Nightlife

Aqua Boracay Day Club

While this isn’t exactly Boracay nightlife, it still fits; leave the pets, kids & Grandma at home (sorry gran gran). In May of 2019 Aqua opened Boracay’s first Day Club. It’s young, energetic, beautiful, and unique on the island. If you’re all about the decompression consider picking up a room in this brand new hotel and staying a while. If you want to have a fantastic day in the sun and pre-game before a big night out, ask your trike driver to bring you to “Aqua Boracay” register with the reception and enjoy. Day guests must rent sprawl space & prices are as follows:

  • Cabana (6-8 pax) 8,000 pesos
  • Beds (2 pax) 4,000 pesos
  • A table (2-4 pax) 2,000 pesos

Good news – these rates are consumable for food and drink. Use of the pool is an additional 500 pesos. The area has quality surround sound music, two restaurants to choose from and yummy, boozy, quality drinks.

Enter

I start this night like most nights on Boracay. Generally, I’ll head towards one section of the beach and meet up with some of my friends on the island. Today is Friday. It’s not actually Friday, it’s Tuesday. But the truth of the matter is that every day on Boracay is Friday. There is no Monday. There is no Wednesday. This is an island built around a fairy tale; right now, I’m enriched….carefree, and void of responsibility. I have a role to play, this night…& why not? It’s Friday.

I enter through D’mall around 6:00pm. Conversations take place throughout the numerous venues in an agitated climate of calm. It’s quiet, but energetic; people are absorbed by todays accomplishments and tomorrows plans. The clink of a glass from across the court, sandals scraping the pathway. A nervous out of place laugh bounces into the evening. Dusk is playing a muted song, enchanting island and inhabitant on the transit from twilight to nightfall.

Aclimatize

At the end of the D’mall path I take a right turn. It’s busy and people are moving with haste and ambition. Some seek to quietly retire from an energetic day on the water. Others eagerly window shop the assemblage of beach bars, pubs & clubs, looking for the perfect catalyst to drive the night forward. To the right of D’mall are several clubs where you can have a few cheap drinks, listen to some great music and acclimatize with the evening and your company. It’s important to begin your night on the beach in a quieter place with your travel companions. Enjoy a few laughs, see where everyone stands mentally, and get any social business out of the way.

What started as edgy excitement is now an almost fluid warmth; everyone is harmonizing. The people walking the beach path aren’t charging so hard. Cultural strangers from across the globe are meeting, sharing and feeding off the infectious vibe. The edginess of raw anticipation has now dissipated and it’s time to go forward and live purely in the moment.

Let go.

Boracay has several clubs, each one enhancing the island nightlife inside of its own wild biosphere.

We navigate through the cold, blue, clean& finished lines of the first club; immersed by the impeccable architecture and heavy, crisp, venue audio. We ride the night and move on to another club. A hot, sliding& grinding place where locals unwind on the dance floor and travelers play into the evolving chaos. We move on to a jam-packed beachfront club where I can still savour a personal moment. I walk down and wet my sandals in the tide, briefly distancing myself from the euphoria of being connected to something so provocative, exhausting and primal.

Finally, on a random, sand hewn dance floor that looks like it will strike hot until the sun rises, our well-oiled company decides to part ways.

It’s time to use up my last shred of responsibility and escape this night’s intoxicating gravity. The weather is good and the moon is riding high. Glowing ripples of water massage the hard packed sand; I zig-zag back to my hotel room reflecting on how terribly difficult it is to find something so safe, pure, and easy back home in the “real world”. There’s a bit of regret that this night is over, but it’s ok.

Because on Boracay, tomorrow is Friday & there’s no shortage of nightlife on Boracay.

Below is all the detailed venue information you’ll need to form your own opinion and get the night started. Find some that appeal to you and enjoy the spirit of discovery!
